Role Summary
St. Stephen School in Ranaghat I, Nadia is looking for a Music Teacher to lead our cultural activities and student ensembles. The position also supports the principal in managing the performing arts budget and coordinating with external music instructors.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute all school music programmes including annual day, festivals, and house competitions.
Prepare quarterly budgets for instruments, costumes, and event expenses and maintain accurate records.
Liaise with external vocal and instrumental trainers to schedule practice sessions for students.
Organise stage rehearsals and ensure timely completion of music-related preparations.
Assist the principal in sourcing quality musical instruments and maintaining inventory.
Coordinate with class teachers to identify students with special musical aptitude.
Represent the school at local cultural events and inter-school music festivals.
Submit monthly progress reports on music activities and upcoming schedules.
Eligibility Criteria
Must Have
Postgraduate degree in Music from a recognised university
Minimum three years of experience in school-level music coordination
Experience in handling budgets for cultural events
Good to Have
B.Ed or D.El.Ed with music specialisation
Prior experience in a similar role at a CBSE-affiliated school
Familiarity with Western and Indian classical instruments
