About Kashinath Lahiri Public School

Kashinath Lahiri Public School sits in the heart of Rangapara, Burnpur, a neighbourhood of Barabani in Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal, pincode 713325. Most of the students come from the surrounding towns and villages, families who work in the local industries and farms, and the school has become a familiar part of their daily lives.

The school is co‑educational and teaches in English, which helps the children from this region connect with the wider world while still staying rooted in their community. The classrooms are spread over a campus of about 7,272 square metres, giving enough space for lessons, labs and a modest playground. Teachers appreciate the relatively small class sizes and the support they receive from the management, the Asansol Kashinath Lahiri Memorial Social Welfare and Educational Society, which has been running the school since 2002.

Being affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, the school follows the CBSE curriculum up to class XII. That means the syllabus is consistent with national standards, and the senior secondary section offers both Science and Commerce streams, giving students a clear pathway to university or vocational training.

Principal Sukhbir Singh Sahota is known for being approachable and for encouraging teachers to try practical approaches rather than just textbook drills. In everyday terms, the school works because the staff, the students and the parents all share the same aim: to make sure the children learn enough to compete beyond Burnpur and to feel confident in the subjects they study.
