Classroom Management
Maintain a structured yet creative music classroom environment. Monitor student participation actively, address behavioral concerns related to music practice, and ensure all students feel included in group activities. Keep records of student progress in music skills, such as note-reading, rhythm, and instrument proficiency, to guide future teaching strategies.
Subject-Specific Skills
Possess strong knowledge of basic music theory, including scales, chords, and musical notation. Demonstrate practical skills in playing at least one musical instrument proficiently, whether it’s a string, wind, or percussion instrument. Be prepared to teach fundamental music appreciation, including listening to classical, folk, and contemporary Indian music to broaden students’ musical horizons.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, having it will be an advantage. A graduate degree in music or a related field is essential, with a focus on practical teaching methods. Familiarity with local music traditions and cultural practices of Paschim Medinipur will be highly beneficial.
