Position Summary
The role involves delivering the Chemistry curriculum to classes VIII‑XII at Ved Vyas Vidyapith in Debra, Paschim Medinipur. The teacher will create engaging lessons, conduct practical sessions and assess student progress in line with state guidelines.
Reporting and Scope
Reports to the Head of Department and collaborates with senior faculty for curriculum planning.
Core Duties
- Design and deliver lesson plans that align with the West Bengal Board syllabus, incorporating experiments and demonstrations to foster conceptual understanding.
- Conduct laboratory work safely, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with school safety protocols.
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, quizzes, unit tests and annual examinations, providing timely feedback.
- Organise remedial classes and enrichment activities for students needing additional support or advanced challenges.
- Participate in departmental meetings, school functions and parent‑teacher interactions to discuss student progress and curriculum matters.
- Contribute to the Chemistry Teacher Recruitment in West Bengal initiatives by mentoring junior staff and assisting in the preparation of teaching resources.
Qualification and Experience
Post‑graduate degree in Chemistry with B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory. Preference given to candidates holding TET/CTET certification. Minimum three years of teaching experience in a school setting is required.
Compensation and Location
Salary: Rs.22,000 - Rs.35,000 per month. The position is based in Debra, Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. The successful candidate will join Ved Vyas Vidyapith, a well‑established school serving the local community.
