How You Will Teach
Lessons will blend traditional Hindustani and Carnatic patterns with contemporary global styles to keep students engaged. Practical sessions will include basic tabla and harmonium practice, rhythm-circle activities, and simple song arrangements. You will use audio-visual aids, digital tuners, and age-appropriate notation sheets to reinforce learning. Occasional assemblies and inter-house music competitions at Dayawanti Punj Model School will give students platforms to showcase progress.
What You Will Do
Conduct daily music periods for Grades 1 to 8 with a focus on vocal training, instrument basics, and ear-training drills.
Prepare term-wise lesson plans aligned to CBSE Art Education guidelines and school academic calendar.
Organize monthly music assemblies where students perform prepared pieces for peers and parents.
Maintain the music room inventory, tune instruments weekly, and report repair needs to the administration.
Collaborate with art and dance teachers to integrate music into annual day and festival celebrations.
Assess students through simple rubrics covering pitch accuracy, rhythm, expression, and participation.
Coordinate inter-house music competitions twice a year to encourage teamwork and stage confidence.
Attend staff meetings, music workshops, and parent-teacher sessions as scheduled by the school.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in Music (Vocal/Instrumental) from a recognized university.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) with Music as a teaching subject.
Two years of classroom teaching experience in a CBSE-affiliated school preferred.
TET or CTET qualification will be an added advantage for PRT Music Teacher Vacancy in Sitamarhi.
