JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Librarian to manage our extensive physical and digital collections. This is a non-teaching position focused on resource management and instructional support. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a professional library setting and hold a graduate degree in Library Science or a related field. As this is a non-teaching role, a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification is not required. The successful candidate will act as a curator of knowledge, ensuring that the library remains the academic heart of the school.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Maintain and update the school library database using integrated library management systems.
Catalog and classify all new books, periodicals, and digital media according to international standards.
Assist students and faculty in locating research materials and navigating academic resources.
Monitor and manage the annual library budget for new acquisitions and maintenance.
Organize and promote library events such as book fairs, reading weeks, and literacy workshops.
Ensure the library environment remains clean, organized, and conducive to quiet study and collaborative research.
Manage digital subscriptions and troubleshoot access issues for online databases and E-journals.
Conduct regular inventory audits and manage the circulation of materials.
TEACHING METHODOLOGY
While this is a non-teaching role, the Librarian plays a vital part in the instructional process through resource-based methodology. You will be expected to guide students in information literacy, helping them develop skills to distinguish between credible and non-credible sources in a digital age.
Technology requirements include:
High proficiency in library automation software and digital archiving tools.
Advanced knowledge of online scholarly databases and E-learning platforms.
Ability to manage cloud-based resource sharing and digital content repositories.
Skill in training students and staff on how to use modern search engines and research software effectively.
