Manav Rachna International School in Shahdara has been a part of the neighborhood for more than a decade, and in that time it has become a familiar sight on the bustling streets near the Delhi–Ghaziabad border. When the school first opened its doors, many families from the surrounding lanes sent their children here because they trusted a name that promised consistency and a steady routine. Over the years the school’s playgrounds, science labs and quiet reading corners have watched generations of kids grow, and the familiar hum of the morning assembly still echoes the same enthusiasm that greeted the very first batch of students.
Our values are simple and grounded in the everyday life of Shahdara. We believe that honesty, respect and a willingness to help one another are as important as any exam score. The school regularly partners with local artisans, health workers and senior citizens, inviting them to share their skills and stories with our classes. Festivals are celebrated not just with decorations, but with community fairs where parents and neighbours set up stalls, and our students learn the meaning of cooperation beyond the classroom walls. The ties we have built with the market vendors, the nearby temple and the local library make the school feel like an extension of the community itself.
In the classroom we try to keep learning lively and relevant. Rather than relying solely on textbooks, teachers use real‑world examples from the streets of Shahdara, from the bustling railway station to the small shops that line the lanes, to illustrate concepts in maths, science and language. Students spend time in the labs conducting experiments, in the art room exploring traditional crafts, and in the open field playing games that teach teamwork. By the time they leave, they carry with them not just academic knowledge but a sense of belonging to a place that has shaped them as much as they have shaped it.
