TGT Physical Education Teacher Position at Banyan Tree School in South Delhi
Banyan Tree School in Defence Colony, South Delhi, seeks a dedicated TGT Physical Education Teacher to inspire and develop young athletes. The role is part of a well-rounded curriculum that emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and active learning in a vibrant educational environment.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with school syllabi, ensuring students develop motor skills, sportsmanship, and fitness habits. Organize extracurricular sports activities, tournaments, and club events to foster competition and camaraderie. Monitor student participation, progress, and safety during all physical activities, including outdoor sports and team drills.
Teach fundamental sports techniques—football, basketball, cricket, athletics, and more—while adapting instruction for students of varying skill levels. Collaborate with the school’s sports coordinator to plan seasonal sports programs, such as inter-house competitions or district-level events. Maintain equipment inventory, repair damaged gear, and ensure all sports facilities meet hygiene and safety standards.
Assist in organizing school events like sports day, annual games, and health awareness campaigns. Provide feedback on student performance through written reports and verbal guidance. Represent the school at local community sports initiatives or parent-teacher interactions related to physical education.
Qualifications
Hold a Bachelor’s in Physical Education or related field followed by a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree. Experience in teaching physical education at the secondary level is highly valued. A passion for sports science, fitness, and youth development is essential.
Experience
A minimum of four years in teaching physical education or related sports coaching at the school or college level. Familiarity with CBSE/ICSE curriculum guidelines and sports pedagogy is preferred. Ability to work with diverse student backgrounds and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Salary and Employment
