Computer Lab Assistant Vacancy in Dwarka, South West Delhi, Delhi
SACHDEVA GLOBAL SCHOOL
Job Description
About This Role
This senior Computer Lab Assistant position at Sachdeva Global School carries oversight of the entire digital infrastructure that supports learning beyond classrooms. You will report directly to the IT Head and coordinate with coordinators across academic wings to align lab operations with school goals. The role balances hands-on maintenance with strategic planning for a lab serving over 1,200 students from Grades 1 to 12 in Dwarka.
Day-to-Day Duties
Handle daily boot-up, shutdown, and software licensing across 60+ workstations to ensure zero downtime during school hours. Maintain asset registers, coordinate with vendors for AMC of printers and projectors, and file monthly usage reports for the finance team. Organise induction sessions for new students on lab etiquette and safe browsing, addressing queries from parents during PTMs.
Train and supervise two junior lab attendants, setting weekly duty rosters and conducting surprise checks on system hygiene. Liaise with the academic coordinators to schedule coding clubs and robotics workshops that utilise lab resources efficiently. Monitor internet usage patterns and counsel students found accessing restricted content, documenting incidents for the discipline committee.
Oversee the backup of student projects every Friday and generate usage analytics for the principal’s quarterly report on digital literacy progress. Collaborate with the library team to integrate e-resources with the school ERP so that parents can track both book and software usage through the parent portal.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in Computer Science, MCA, or M.Sc (IT) with at least five years of hands-on experience in school or college lab administration. Prior exposure to managing Windows, Linux, and macOS environments, along with troubleshooting network printers and interactive flat panels, is essential. Experience with ERP integration and AMC coordination adds weight to the application.
Your Growth Path
You will attend quarterly training programmes organised by CBSE or NIELIT in Dwarka or nearby centres to stay updated on digital safety protocols and emerging EdTech tools. The school encourages you to present case studies on lab optimisation at internal forums, opening doors to the IT coordinator role within two years. External certifications such as Red Hat or CompTIA A+ are supported with study leave and partial fee reimbursement.
