About This Role
This is a senior administrative position at Vishwa Bharti Public School where the Karate Coach will lead the martial arts program with full ownership. The role reports directly to the School Principal and works closely with the Sports Coordinator and Discipline In-Charge. Strategic planning for student participation in zonal and national karate competitions falls under this role.
What You Will Do
Plan and execute the entire karate curriculum for classes I to XII across all sections in Dwarka, South West Delhi. Organize monthly inter-house karate tournaments and maintain meticulous records of belt promotions and belt tests for every learner. Oversee the daily operations of the indoor sports complex where the karate dojo is housed, including equipment maintenance and safety compliance.
Coordinate with the school transport team to arrange safe pick-up and drop-off for learners attending weekend workshops and external tournaments. Liaise with parents during monthly review meetings to share progress reports and gather feedback on learner performance. Represent Vishwa Bharti Public School at Delhi State Karate Association meetings and ensure timely submission of participation certificates and affiliation dues.
Train and mentor a team of three assistant karate coaches, conduct weekly staff meetings, and evaluate their lesson plans against the school’s safety and quality benchmarks. Align the karate program with the school’s overall sports calendar and ensure seamless integration with morning assembly and PT periods. Address any behavioral incidents during karate sessions by collaborating with the school counselor and discipline team.
Eligibility
Minimum five years of full-time karate coaching experience in a school or sports academy setting. Postgraduate degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field from a recognized Indian university. Candidates with black belts in Shotokan or Kyokushin and prior experience in organizing inter-school tournaments will be preferred.
