About This Role
New Era Public School in Dwarka, South West Delhi, is seeking a highly organized and tech-savvy LIBRARIAN to lead its school library. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the library's collections, cataloging resources, and promoting reading and research skills among students.
Day-to-Day Duties
1. Oversee the library's collections, including books, e-books, journals, and other digital resources.
2. Develop and implement effective information literacy programs for students and teachers.
3. Manage library operations, including supervision of library assistants and maintenance of library equipment.
4. Coordinate with teachers to develop curriculum-integrated library programs.
5. Conduct research and provide information to students, teachers, and parents as needed.
6. Maintain accurate records of library circulation, inventory, and patron usage.
7. Collaborate with other departments to develop school-wide literacy initiatives.
8. Plan and execute library events, such as author visits and book festivals.
Required Qualifications
A graduate degree from a recognized institution is essential. A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is preferred, but not required. Computer proficiency, including experience with integrated library systems and online databases, is a must.
Preferred Skills
Experience with children's literature and programming for library events. Knowledge of Indian education system and curriculum is an asset.
