Computer Science (PRT) Vacancy in Patel Nagar, West Delhi, Delhi
Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School
Job Description
Role Summary
Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School in Patel Nagar, West Delhi is looking for a PRT Computer Science Teacher to shape how young learners from local families engage with technology. The teacher will bring foundational computer science concepts to students in grades 1 to 5, ensuring clear understanding through age-appropriate activities and everyday examples.
Your Students
Children in West Delhi come from diverse backgrounds, and many are encountering computers for the first time in the classroom. Your role is to make lessons relatable—using local contexts like neighborhood shops, transport maps, and family routines to explain basic hardware, software, and safe internet use. Parent meetings in Hindi or Punjabi often highlight concerns about screen time; you will address these with practical demonstrations and simple take-home worksheets.
Key Responsibilities
Plan weekly Computer Science lessons for classes 1 to 5 using Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School’s activity-based curriculum. Each session should include a short demonstration, hands-on practice on school tablets, and a quick worksheet to reinforce concepts.
Organize monthly Computer Science clubs where students solve puzzles, create simple drawings using paint tools, or build basic animations. These clubs encourage peer learning and reduce screen dependency at home.
Prepare monthly progress reports highlighting each child’s understanding of basic terms like monitor, keyboard, and save. Share these with parents during PTMs in simple language they can relate to.
Conduct surprise digital safety drills where students identify safe and unsafe online behaviors. These drills help build responsible habits early and reassure parents about classroom guidance.
Arrange quarterly exhibitions where students showcase projects like animated greeting cards or digital stories. Invite parents to see the difference classroom exposure makes in their children’s confidence.
Collaborate with the art and math teachers to link computer science with other subjects—for example, using spreadsheets for simple data collection or coding games for logical thinking.
Attend weekly subject meetings with the Computer Science coordinator to align lesson plans and share student observations from Patel Nagar classrooms.
Eligibility
Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or MCA from a recognized Indian university. Minimum 3 years of full-time teaching experience in primary classes.
B.Ed or M.Ed is preferred but candidates with strong classroom experience and willingness to complete B.Ed within two years will be considered.
Familiarity with Windows, basic programming tools like Scratch, and educational apps like Tux Paint or Khan Academy Kids is necessary.
Preferred Skills
Experience teaching Computer Science to children aged 6 to 10 in Delhi-NCR schools. Exposure to D.El.Ed or B.Ed with computer science specialization is an added advantage.
Ability to explain concepts in Hindi and English fluently, with occasional use of Punjabi for parent interactions in Patel Nagar.
Skill in designing low-tech activities like unplugged coding games, flashcard matching, or story-based learning for early grades.
Perks and Pay
Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School offers a full-time position with a monthly salary ranging from Rs.15,000 to Rs.30,000 based on qualifications and experience.
Additional benefits include subsidized meals, school transport for field visits, and access to in-house teacher training workshops.
The role is best suited for educators who enjoy hands-on classroom work and want to build foundational computer skills in young learners from West Delhi.
