Role Summary
Sri Venkateshwar International School in Patel Nagar invites applications for a PRT Japanese Teacher Vacancy in West Delhi. This is a full-time position for teaching Japanese to students in Grades 1 to 5. The role focuses on building foundational language skills through engaging classroom methods and interactive activities. Experience of at least 2 years in primary Japanese teaching is required.
How You Will Teach
You will use picture cards, flashcards, and simple dialogues to introduce hiragana and katakana. Short animated videos and rhymes will help reinforce pronunciation and vocabulary. Worksheets with tracing exercises and coloring tasks will support writing practice. Group games like "Simon Says" in Japanese will encourage speaking in a fun way. Storytelling sessions using bilingual picture books will make language learning memorable.
Day-to-Day Duties
Conduct daily Japanese speaking practice with clear pronunciation drills for young learners. Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned with the school’s language curriculum for primary classes. Organize cultural activities like origami sessions or Japanese festival celebrations in the classroom. Create simple assessment sheets to track progress in listening, speaking, and writing. Maintain a language corner with labels, charts, and student work displays. Collaborate with other subject teachers for cross-cultural projects. Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress in Japanese. Participate in school events such as annual day or language fairs with Japanese-themed performances.
Eligibility
Postgraduate degree in Japanese language or related field is required. Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Japanese to primary students in Indian schools. D.El.Ed or B.Ed with specialization in foreign languages will be preferred. NET or SET qualified candidates will get added advantage. Proficiency in both spoken and written Japanese (N4 level or above) is necessary.
