Mathematics (PRT) Vacancy in Patel Nagar, West Delhi, Delhi
SRI VENKATESHWAR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Job Description
Role Summary
Sri Venkateshwar International School is looking for a PRT Mathematics Teacher to join our lively primary section in Patel Nagar, West Delhi. The ideal candidate will nurture curiosity and confidence in young learners across Grades 1 to 5, shaping foundational math skills that stay with students for life. The student community in West Delhi is diverse and eager, making this role both challenging and deeply rewarding.
Your Students
You will teach mathematics to children aged 6 to 11 in a classroom that values participation over perfection. Many students come from families where math is seen as abstract or difficult, so your daily goal is to translate numbers into stories, games, and real-life puzzles. Regular parent-teacher interactions in Hindi and English will help align home support with classroom progress.
What You Will Do
Create hands-on math activities using everyday objects like beads, blocks, and measuring tapes to explain shapes, patterns, and basic operations.
Design simple worksheets and flashcards that reinforce concepts without overwhelming young minds.
Conduct group games and role-plays to teach time, money, and measurement in a fun, interactive way.
Use storytelling to introduce mathematical ideas—for example, weaving numbers into short tales about market visits or travel.
Organize small math fairs or exhibitions where students display their projects to parents and peers.
Monitor individual progress through informal quizzes and daily observations, noting strengths and areas needing extra attention.
Communicate regularly with parents using WhatsApp groups or notebooks to share progress and suggest home-based practice.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, or Education with at least 50% marks.
B.Ed or M.Ed from a recognized Indian institution.
Minimum 3 years of full-time teaching experience in primary grades.
Familiarity with CBSE-aligned lesson planning and assessment methods.
Preferred Skills
Strong command of Hindi and English for classroom instruction and parent communication.
Experience using digital tools like PowerPoint or educational apps for math drills.
Ability to plan activity-based lessons that keep 20-25 students engaged simultaneously.
Salary and Benefits
Monthly salary ranges from Rs.20,000 to Rs.40,000 based on qualifications and experience.
Full-time position with access to school resources and in-service training workshops.
Opportunity to contribute to school events and parent orientation programs in Patel Nagar.
