About This Role
This Physical Education teaching role focuses on nurturing students’ physical fitness, motor skills, and sportsmanship through structured lesson plans aligned with the State Board of Gujarat curriculum. The TGT Physical Education Teacher will conduct daily physical training sessions, sports coaching, and health education classes for students in Anklesvar, Bharuch, Gujarat. The position requires designing age-appropriate fitness drills, organizing inter-house and inter-school competitions, and promoting lifelong wellness habits.
How You Will Teach
You will use practical methods such as skill-based drills, circuit training, and team games to engage students in learning physical education. Lesson delivery includes indoor activities like yoga, aerobics, and rhythmic exercises, alongside outdoor sports like cricket, football, and athletics. Modern tools such as fitness trackers, stopwatches, and video analysis of sports techniques will support instruction. Health education components will cover nutrition, first aid, and injury prevention.
Day-to-Day Duties
You will conduct morning assembly fitness sessions for students and staff in Anklesvar, Bharuch, Gujarat. Daily physical education classes will include warm-up routines, skill drills, and cool-down exercises for students of TGT level. Organizing inter-house tournaments in volleyball, basketball, and kho-kho during the academic year is part of the role. Maintaining sports equipment inventory and reporting repair needs to the administration ensures safe usage. Coordinating with external coaches for specialized sports training like swimming or table tennis will be required. You will assess students’ fitness levels twice a year using standardized tests and record progress in physical education portfolios. Assisting in school sports day planning and execution is a key responsibility. Promoting healthy lifestyle choices through assemblies and classroom interactions supports the school’s wellness mission.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Physical Education (M.P.Ed) or a postgraduate degree with B.Ed in Physical Education from a recognized university. A B.P.Ed or M.P.Ed with D.El.Ed is acceptable if paired with relevant teaching experience. NET or SET qualified applicants in Physical Education will be preferred. Prior experience in coaching school-level teams is desirable.
