This Ibpyp English Teacher role at Anandi School is designed for educators ready to shape curriculum beyond the classroom. With potential to step into Head of Department responsibilities, you will lead the English team in Gurugram’s dynamic IB PYP environment. Strategic responsibilities
Develop and refine the Ibpyp English curriculum aligned with IB standards and local learning expectations in Gurugram. Mentor a small team of English teachers, conducting weekly planning and feedback sessions to maintain high instructional quality. Lead assessment design, ensuring balanced evaluation of reading, writing, speaking and listening across all grades.
Organise and facilitate professional development workshops for English faculty, focusing on inquiry-based learning and differentiation. Represent the English department in school leadership meetings, advocating for resources and time to enhance language acquisition. Collaborate with the PYP coordinator to integrate English skills with Units of Inquiry, making literacy meaningful across subjects.
Monitor student progress through portfolios and benchmark assessments, providing actionable insights to parents and leadership. Strengthen ties with the Gurugram community by organising book fairs, author visits and parent literacy workshops that extend learning beyond Anandi School.
What you bring
A graduate degree in English or Education with at least three years of full-time English teaching experience in an Ibpyp or similar inquiry-based setting. A B.Ed or D.El.Ed is required; TET or CTET is a plus for local context understanding.
Proven ability to lead a small academic team and drive curriculum innovation in a multicultural classroom. Experience with IB assessment practices and a portfolio showcasing student writing growth will strengthen your application.
