The Scottish High School
Job Description
Job Overview
The Scottish High School is looking for a dedicated NTT English Teacher to join our vibrant early-years team in Gurugram. Your Students
You will teach young learners aged 3 to 6, most of whom are first-generation English speakers in the NTT section. Many families in Gurugram move here for work, so your classroom becomes a welcoming space where vocabulary, phonics, and confidence grow together. Stories, songs, and simple conversations will fill your days with smiles and small breakthroughs.
What You Will Do
Plan and deliver daily English lessons that introduce letters, sounds, and everyday words through play-based activities.
Create a print-rich classroom with flashcards, charts, and picture books to support visual and auditory learning.
Assess each child’s progress through informal observations, noting how they recognize letters, form sounds, and speak in sentences.
Collaborate with NTT coordinators to align themes with broader school events like book weeks and festival celebrations.
Prepare weekly newsletters for parents highlighting new words learned and ways to reinforce English at home.
Organize circle-time storytelling sessions that encourage listening, speaking, and participation from all children.
Attend staff meetings and parent orientation programs to share updates on language milestones.
Required Qualifications
Postgraduate degree in any discipline.
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) from a recognized Indian institution.
Minimum 2 years of experience teaching English to young children in a school or preschool setting.
Preference will be given to candidates with a TET or CTET certification.
Skills We Value
Fluency in spoken English with clear pronunciation and a friendly tone that appeals to children.
Patience and warmth to guide shy learners through their first words without pressure.
Ability to design low-prep, high-impact activities using everyday materials available in Gurugram classrooms.
Basic familiarity with digital tools like interactive rhyme videos or animated alphabet apps for reinforcement.
Strong organizational skills to manage lesson plans, attendance, and daily classroom routines smoothly.
Salary and Benefits
Competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs.20,000 to Rs.30,000 based on experience and qualifications.
Full-time position with annual leave as per school calendar.
Access to in-house professional development workshops focused on early literacy.
Children of employees receive preference in admission, subject to availability.
School transport facility for staff opting for the route, within Gurugram limits.
