Role introduction

Responsibilities
- Maintain daily cash flow, bank reconciliations and ledger entries in accordance with school policies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and submit them to senior management.
- Process fee receipts, payroll disbursements and vendor payments, ensuring timely and correct documentation.
- Monitor and control school expenses, flagging any discrepancies for corrective action.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing inputs for resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations such as GST, TDS and income tax filings.
- Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits and implement recommended improvements.
- Generate periodic reports on financial performance for the school’s governing body.
Qualification
Must Have
- Graduate degree in Commerce, Accounting or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in an educational or similar institutional setting.
Good to Have
- Professional certification such as CA, CMA or CS is an added advantage.
Skills
- Strong command of accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks or similar) and MS Excel.
- Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of GST, TDS and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with school administration.
- Clear communication skills for preparing reports and interacting with vendors.
Salary and location
The role offers a salary range of Rs.18,000 - Rs.30,000 per month. The position is based in Sonipat, Haryana, at the Rishikul Vidyapeeth campus.
