About This Role
The Assam Royal Global University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Natural Language Processing. The position supports both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in computer science and computational linguistics.
Key Responsibilities
Teach core and elective courses in Natural Language Processing at the undergraduate level, including modules on syntax, semantics, and computational linguistics. Develop and update syllabi to align with current industry standards and academic trends. Conduct tutorials and laboratory sessions to enhance student understanding of NLP concepts.
At the postgraduate level, deliver advanced courses such as Machine Translation, Sentiment Analysis, and Deep Learning for NLP. Supervise minor and major projects for M.Sc. students, ensuring timely completion and academic rigor. Organize seminars and workshops to expose students to real-world applications of NLP in industry and research.
Postgraduate Students
Guide postgraduate students in their dissertation work on topics like neural machine translation, chatbot development, and low-resource language processing. Facilitate access to university computational resources and datasets for research projects. Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration with departments in data science and cognitive science.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a closely related field with at least 55% marks. Those without a Ph.D. may apply if they have qualified NET/SLET and have publications in peer-reviewed journals. Prior teaching or research experience in Natural Language Processing is preferred.
A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required for this position. Familiarity with Python, NLTK, spaCy, or TensorFlow is desirable. Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students in technical subjects will be an advantage.
