Vidhya Kunj School in Dhamtari is looking for an experienced PGT Botany Teacher to join its faculty and inspire students with hands-on botany education. This role is ideal for someone passionate about plant science, teaching, and nurturing young minds in a rural Chhattisgarh setting.
The PGT Botany Teacher will play a crucial role in shaping students’ understanding of plant biology, ecology, and practical applications. This position involves designing and delivering engaging curriculum aligned with school syllabi while fostering scientific curiosity through experiments and fieldwork. The successful candidate will also mentor students, encourage participation in science fairs, and collaborate with the science department to enhance interdisciplinary learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach advanced botany subjects, including plant taxonomy, physiology, genetics, and environmental biology, to high school students at Vidhya Kunj School.
Develop and implement innovative teaching methods, such as lab demonstrations, field trips to local forests or botanical gardens, and interactive projects to make botany relatable.
Prepare and maintain well-equipped botany labs, ensuring students have access to microscopes, herbarium specimens, and other scientific tools.
Assist in organizing science exhibitions, competitions, and workshops to promote interest in botany among students.
Conduct regular class assessments, including practical exams and projects, to evaluate students’ understanding and progress.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in botany and integrate relevant research findings into teaching practices.
Collaborate with other science teachers to create cohesive learning experiences across biology, chemistry, and physics.
Prepare lesson plans, syllabi, and teaching aids tailored to the school’s curriculum and student needs.
Attend departmental meetings, staff discussions, and professional development workshops to enhance teaching quality.
Maintain a disciplined and supportive environment in the botany lab and classroom, ensuring safety standards are followed.
Engage with parents and guardians through regular interactions, parent-teacher meetings, and reports to discuss student progress.
To apply for this PGT Botany Teacher Vacancy in Dhamtari, candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in Botany or a related field, along with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. A minimum of four years of teaching experience, preferably in botany or science subjects, is required. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it will be an added advantage.
