Social Science (TGT) Vacancy in New Delhi, Delhi
The Indian School
Job Description
A TGT Social Science Teacher will play a key role in shaping young minds at The Indian School, one of Delhi’s premier institutions. This full-time role requires a passionate educator with a postgraduate degree in Social Science, along with at least two years of relevant teaching experience. Your expertise will help students explore history, geography, economics, and political science in engaging ways, fostering critical thinking and global awareness.
Daily Responsibilities
Your day-to-day work will involve planning and conducting engaging lessons across Social Science subjects. You’ll design interactive sessions that blend theory with real-world applications, ensuring students grasp concepts like Indian history, world cultures, and contemporary issues. Classroom management, student feedback, and maintaining a supportive learning environment are essential parts of your routine.
You’ll also assist in organizing field trips, guest lectures, and workshops to bring Social Science to life outside the classroom. Collaborating with colleagues to align lessons with curriculum standards will be part of your daily tasks, ensuring consistency and quality across the board.
Recurring Responsibilities
Teaching scheduled classes is a core responsibility, with lesson planning and preparation taking up a significant portion of your time. You’ll assess student progress through quizzes, projects, and exams, providing constructive feedback to help them improve. Keeping parents informed about student performance through regular updates and parent-teacher interactions is also a recurring duty.
Maintaining a well-organized classroom and ensuring safety protocols are followed are practical responsibilities that ensure a smooth and effective learning environment. You’ll also participate in school-wide events, such as cultural fairs or debates, to reinforce Social Science concepts in a fun and memorable way.
Periodic Responsibilities
At the start of each academic year, you’ll contribute to curriculum planning and review, ensuring Social Science remains relevant and engaging. Mid-year reviews and end-of-semester evaluations will help you refine teaching methods based on student responses and feedback.
You may also be asked to represent the school at educational forums, workshops, or training sessions to stay updated on teaching best practices. Periodically, you’ll document lesson plans, student records, and assessment data to support administrative and academic decisions.
