Role Summary
A senior Dance department leadership role is now open at Savanu International School in Alipur, North Delhi. The position combines hands-on dance instruction at the PRT level with departmental oversight, curriculum ownership, and mentoring of junior staff. This is a full-time opportunity for a graduate Dance teacher with at least two years of school experience who is ready to shape the performing arts vision for Grades 1 to 5.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, resource, and deliver a vibrant Dance curriculum for PRT classes in line with CBSE and school values. Curate annual performances, inter-house competitions, and community outreach events that showcase student talent across Alipur and North Delhi. Monitor student progress through observation, feedback, and informal assessments to ensure steady artistic growth.
Lead the Dance department by coordinating lesson plans, sharing best practices, and organizing cross-grade workshops. Mentor junior Dance teachers and PRT staff through classroom observations, feedback sessions, and collaborative planning. Assist in teacher induction and ongoing professional development aligned with Savanu International School’s academic calendar.
Oversee costume design, music licensing, stage logistics, and safety protocols for all Dance productions. Liaise with the school leadership on budget allocation, vendor contracts, and parent communication for events. Contribute to the school’s performing arts culture by integrating local Delhi traditions into classroom learning and performances.
Required Qualifications
Graduation in any discipline with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed from a recognized Indian university. Minimum two years of full-time Dance teaching experience in a CBSE or similar school environment. Familiarity with Indian classical, folk, or contemporary Dance forms commonly taught in North Delhi schools is essential.
Preference will be given to candidates who have cleared CTET or hold a relevant TET certification. Experience with lesson planning software, digital music tools, and basic stage management is a plus. Knowledge of Hindi and English for classroom instruction and parent interactions is necessary.
