About This Role
The Psychological Counsellor plays a vital role in supporting students’ mental health and emotional well-being at Dev Samaj Modern School. This position involves assessing, counseling, and guiding students through academic, social, and personal challenges. The role contributes directly to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment in Vivek Vihar, South Delhi.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for students showing signs of stress or behavioral concerns.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify students needing psychological support.
Maintain confidential student records and prepare progress reports for school leadership.
Organize workshops on stress management, emotional resilience, and healthy study habits.
Refer students to external mental health professionals when specialized intervention is required.
Coordinate with the school nurse and special educators to support diverse learning needs.
Assist in crisis intervention and provide immediate support during emotional or behavioral emergencies.
Participate in monthly staff meetings to discuss student well-being and suggest school-level improvements.
Who Can Apply
Must Have
Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology.
Minimum 2 years of experience in school counseling or child mental health settings.
Familiarity with child development and adolescent behavioral issues.
Good to Have
Experience working in South Delhi schools or similar urban educational environments.
Knowledge of CBSE or state board school systems and student support frameworks.
Preferred Skills
Strong leadership in guiding school staff on student mental health protocols.
Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, and educators.
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Salary and Benefits
Rs.20,000 - Rs.40,000 per month based on qualifications and experience.
