Marching Band Instructor Job in West Delhi, Delhi | School Vacancy
Role Summary
Gd Goenka School is looking for a Marching Band Instructor to lead the school’s marching band programme in Rajouri Garden, West Delhi. The role involves organising rehearsals, coordinating performances, and mentoring student musicians to maintain high artistic standards. The marching band represents the school at events across Delhi, so the instructor must ensure discipline, precision, and team cohesion.
Key Responsibilities
Plan weekly marching band rehearsals, including warm-ups, drills, and music selection.
Train students in instrument handling, posture, and synchronized movement for parades and events.
Coordinate with the school administration to schedule performances at national days, sports meets, and cultural festivals.
Maintain inventory of instruments, uniforms, and accessories, reporting any shortages to the school authorities.
Prepare the band for external competitions and inter-school events in Delhi NCR.
Ensure all band members follow safety protocols during rehearsals and performances.
Document student progress and submit reports on band readiness to the school leadership.
Liaise with parents for permission slips, uniform fittings, and event logistics.
Who Can Apply
Must Have
Graduation in Music or Performing Arts with three years of marching band leadership experience.
Experience conducting school bands or community ensembles in Delhi.
Good to Have
Post-graduate degree in Music or Band Conducting.
Prior experience in elite school bands like those in Delhi Public School or similar institutions.
Preferred Skills
Strong leadership to guide 30-50 students during high-energy rehearsals.
Excellent communication to coordinate with students, parents, and school staff.
Organisational ability to manage schedules, logistics, and equipment for events.
Knowledge of Indian and Western marching band repertoire and drill formations.
Perks and Pay
The Marching Band Instructor will receive Rs.30,000 to Rs.45,000 per month.
Benefits include PF, medical reimbursement, and uniform allowance.
