Job Overview
Gd Goenka School is looking for a dynamic Music Teacher for its Rajouri Garden campus. The role involves planning and overseeing music activities, coordinating performances, and managing the music department’s resources. Experience in school administration and student event leadership is essential.
What You Will Do
1. Develop and execute the annual music calendar including concerts, assemblies, and inter-school events.
2. Supervise the music studio, instruments, and audio-visual equipment to ensure readiness for rehearsals and performances.
3. Lead auditions, rehearsals, and dress rehearsals for school choirs, bands, and orchestras.
4. Coordinate with the academic and co-curricular heads to align music events with the school calendar.
5. Maintain records of student participation, assessment sheets, and inventory of musical instruments.
6. Organize workshops and masterclasses by visiting artists for student enrichment.
7. Liaise with parents during pre-event briefings and post-event feedback sessions.
8. Report to the Head of Co-curricular Activities on departmental progress and resource requirements.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate degree in Music from a recognized university is mandatory. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is required for this administrative role. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in school music department coordination is necessary. Proficiency in basic computer applications like MS Office and Google Workspace is expected.
Preferred Skills
Fluency in Hindi and English for documentation and communication. Prior experience in event management within a school setting is a strong plus. Knowledge of Indian and Western music traditions and basic conducting techniques is desirable. Familiarity with inventory management and budget tracking for music resources will be advantageous.
