Mathematics (PRT) Vacancy in Rajouri Garden, West Delhi, Delhi
Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School
Job Description
Role Summary
Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School in Rajouri Garden welcomes a PRT Mathematics Teacher to guide young learners across West Delhi. The student community here brings energy, curiosity, and a growing appetite for problem-solving. Your role is to shape their mathematical thinking early, turning abstract numbers into practical understanding.
Classroom Profile
You will teach Mathematics to classes 1 to 5 in a classroom of 30–35 students. The curriculum blends CBSE fundamentals with activity-based learning, so students explore shapes, patterns, and basic arithmetic through games and real-life examples. Each class meets for 40 minutes, with two periods daily and periodic remedial sessions for those who need extra support.
Key Responsibilities
Plan daily lessons that build confidence in numbers and measurements for young learners. Use visual aids, manipulatives, and storytelling to explain concepts like addition, subtraction, and geometry in simple terms.
Assess student progress through informal quizzes, class participation, and observation rather than heavy testing. Provide feedback to parents during PTMs and suggest home-based activities to reinforce classroom learning.
Organize monthly math corners or fairs where students display puzzles, charts, or models they have created. These events help children see Mathematics as a creative subject, not just a subject to memorize.
Collaborate with PRT colleagues to align Mathematics lessons with themes in EVS and English, showing students how numbers appear in daily life. Attend weekly subject meetings to share ideas and refine teaching strategies.
Maintain clean, organized math corners in each classroom with number lines, abacuses, and flashcards ready for use. Keep teaching aids updated and stored properly to support spontaneous learning moments.
Document anecdotal records of student progress, noting strengths and areas needing reinforcement. Share these insights with coordinators during mid-year reviews.
Key Responsibilities also include supervising students during assembly, playtime, and field trips to ensure safety while encouraging peer interaction and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
Graduate in any discipline with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed from a recognized institution. A valid TET or CTET certificate is preferred but not mandatory. Prior experience in primary Mathematics teaching for at least two years is essential.
What Makes You a Fit
You enjoy explaining fractions with pizzas or distances with toy cars and have a knack for simplifying complex ideas for young minds. Familiarity with CBSE primary Mathematics syllabus and activity-based teaching methods will help you settle in quickly.
If you have used local examples—like calculating bus fares or market prices—to teach addition or subtraction, you will connect well with students from West Delhi. Patience, clear communication, and a calm demeanor during classroom transitions matter more than perfect Hindi or English.
What You Get
Monthly salary between Rs.35,000 and Rs.40,000, with annual increments based on performance. The role is full-time with school holidays, paid leave, and access to in-house professional development workshops. Meals during school hours are provided.
