The reality of this role
Teaching Science at St. Cecilia Public School means handling classes from VI to VIII, planning labs every week, and grading notebooks before the next class. You will cover Physics, Chemistry and Biology in simple language that students in Patel Nagar understand. Exam papers and practical records keep you busy round the year, not just during term-end.
What you will actually do
Prepare lesson plans for three subjects under the CBSE middle-school syllabus.
Conduct weekly Science practicals in the school lab with limited equipment.
Set question papers for half-yearly and annual exams, keeping difficulty balanced.
Mark notebooks and practical files within two days of submission.
Organize science exhibitions or quiz contests every term to keep students engaged.
Attend staff meetings on Monday mornings to discuss curriculum and student progress.
Coordinate with the lab assistant to ensure chemicals and glassware are ready.
Help students prepare for inter-school science fairs whenever they come up.
Who can do this job
Bachelor’s degree in Science plus B.Ed/D.El.Ed is mandatory.
Two years of teaching Science to classes VI–VIII is required.
Preference for candidates who have appeared in CTET/TET, though not compulsory.
Post-graduation in any Science subject will be given weight.
What you need to bring
Clear concept clarity in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the NCERT level.
Patience to explain the same concept five times until the last student gets it.
Basic Hindi and English for communication with parents in Patel Nagar.
Willingness to stay after school hours during exam weeks or event days.
