Nexus International School in Rajkot is looking for a Primary Teacher (PRT) to teach English to young learners. The role is based in Rajkot, Gujarat and involves delivering the English curriculum to classes from grades 1 to 5 in a vibrant international school setting.
Role Responsibilities
The teacher will plan and deliver engaging English lessons that develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in accordance with the school’s curriculum framework. Daily classroom activities will include interactive storytelling, phonics drills, group discussions and age‑appropriate literature exploration. Assessment of student progress will be carried out through formative quizzes, oral presentations and written assignments, with feedback provided to students and parents. The teacher will collaborate with fellow faculty to integrate cross‑subject themes, support co‑curricular events such as debates and dramatics, and contribute ideas for school‑wide language initiatives. Maintaining a disciplined yet supportive classroom environment, managing classroom resources, and ensuring the safety and well‑being of students are also key duties. Regular communication with parents through meetings and progress reports will be expected, along with participation in staff development programmes and school meetings.
Eligibility
Candidates must hold a graduate degree coupled with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification. While TET or CTET is preferred, it is not mandatory. A minimum of three years of experience teaching English at the primary level is required, demonstrating the ability to create lesson plans, manage a classroom and foster a love for language among young learners. Strong command of English, good interpersonal skills and familiarity with contemporary teaching aids are essential.
