Reporting and scope
The Music Teacher reports to the Head of Department and collaborates with the school faculty to plan interdisciplinary activities.
Core duties
Curriculum delivery
- Design and implement age‑appropriate music lessons for grades 6‑10.
- Use diverse teaching methods, including instrumental practice, vocal training, and group performances, to enhance student learning.
Assessment and progression
- Conduct regular assessments to track student progress and adjust instructional strategies.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents during parent‑teacher meetings.
Co‑curricular involvement
- Organise school concerts, cultural events, and inter‑school competitions.
- Mentor student music clubs and assist in arranging field trips to concerts and workshops.
Professional development
- Stay updated with contemporary music education trends and local cultural music forms.
- Attend workshops, seminars, and training sessions to refine teaching techniques.
Qualification and experience
- Post‑graduate degree in Music or related field.
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed mandatory; TET/CTET preferred.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience in a school setting.
Compensation and location
- Salary: Rs.22,000 – Rs.40,000 per month.
