Responsibilities
Teach History to students in classes 9 to 12, ensuring alignment with the CBSE syllabus and state-specific guidelines. Prepare engaging lesson plans that incorporate local historical events, such as those from Kurukshetra’s rich heritage like the ancient Mahabharata battles or the region’s role in freedom struggles. Conduct interactive sessions, including debates, projects, and field trips to bring history to life, especially for topics like the Indus Valley Civilization or the Mughal Empire’s influence in Haryana.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and collaborate with the history department to refine teaching methods. Attend regular faculty meetings to discuss curriculum updates and share innovative teaching strategies. Ensure classroom management is consistent with Saigrace International School’s values of discipline and academic excellence.
Qualification
Hold a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with a postgraduate qualification in History. A master’s in History or related subjects is preferred. Possession of TET/CTET certification is highly beneficial but not mandatory for this position.
Experience
Minimum one year of teaching experience, preferably in a school setting. Experience with curriculum development or extracurricular history-related activities is a plus. Familiarity with modern teaching tools like interactive whiteboards or digital history resources would be advantageous.
