As a Head of Department (HOD) potential candidate, you will lead the Social Science Department at Shiva International Residential School in Bilha, Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, shaping the minds of our young students and inspiring them to become responsible citizens of the nation.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Social Science curriculum for classes 6 to 10 at Shiva International Residential School, aligning it with the NCERT guidelines and the school's vision.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of Social Science teachers to ensure excellent teaching and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with the school administration to design and implement innovative pedagogical practices, assessments, and evaluations to measure student progress.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community organizations, educational institutions, and government bodies to enhance the school's reputation and provide opportunities for students.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to identify areas of improvement and provide feedback to students, teachers, and parents.
- Manage the Social Science department's budget, resources, and logistics to ensure efficient allocation and utilization.
- Organize and participate in school events, workshops, and conferences to promote Social Science education and stay updated with the latest trends and developments.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and respect in the Social Science department, promoting social responsibility and global citizenship among students.
- Develop and maintain a repository of Social Science teaching resources, materials, and assessments to support teachers and students.
- Collaborate with the school's academic committee to develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for Social Science education.
What You Bring
- You hold a B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. degree and have a strong academic background in Social Science.
- You have at least 2 years of teaching experience in a school setting, preferably in a similar position.
- You are certified in TET or CTET, which is preferred but not mandatory.
- You have excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students, teachers, and parents.
- You are familiar with the NCERT guidelines and the curriculum for Social Science education in India.
- You have a deep understanding of the subject matter and are committed to staying updated with the latest developments and trends in Social Science education.
