Dance (PRT) Vacancy in Topchanchi, Dhanbad, Jharkhand
G M Public School
Job Description
The school community and culture
G M Public School in Topchanchi is where learning feels like family. Teachers here don’t just teach—they lead morning assemblies, cheer at sports days, and even help with local cultural programs in the village. Everyone knows your name, and your presence matters beyond the classroom.
What it's like to work here
You will walk into a lively campus where dance is more than a subject—it’s a way to bring students together. The staff room is always buzzing with shared lesson plans and weekend plans for local fairs. Morning tea at the canteen is a chance to swap stories about students’ progress and village festivals.
Your role in the community
Plan weekly dance sessions for classes 1 to 5, focusing on folk styles like Jhumar and Paika. Choreograph simple items for annual functions and local melas in Dhanbad. Organize a small “Dance Club” every Friday where students practice and perform for each other.
Prepare students for inter-school competitions in Jharkhand. Keep costumes and props ready for festivals like Sarhul and Chhath. Coordinate with the music teacher to blend songs with movements.
Who fits in here
A graduate with at least two years of dance teaching experience is needed. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is a must; TET/CTET is welcome but not required. You should be comfortable working with children aged 6 to 11 and enjoy learning local Jharkhandi dance forms yourself.
What you get
Rs.12,000 to Rs.18,000 per month, paid on time every month. Free school transport from Dhanbad bus stand to Topchanchi. Annual health check-ups for the whole family and access to the school library and sports facilities.
How to become part of the team
Bring your dance shoes and a willingness to stay after school for practice. Submit your resume with a short note on your favorite folk dance style. Visit the school office any weekday morning to meet the principal and see the studio.
