Job Description
The school seeks a dedicated Special Educator to support learners with diverse learning needs in a primary‑to‑secondary setting. The role involves planning, delivering and monitoring individualized instructional strategies that enable students with disabilities to access the regular curriculum and achieve academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to identify each learner’s strengths, challenges and required accommodations.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with class teachers, parents and support staff, outlining specific goals, teaching methods and evaluation criteria.
- Design and implement differentiated lesson plans, using visual aids, assistive technologies and multisensory techniques appropriate to the learner’s profile.
- Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group instruction, adapting content, pacing and assessment formats to meet individual needs.
- Monitor student progress through systematic observation, record‑keeping and regular review of IEP targets; adjust strategies based on data.
- Offer guidance and training to classroom teachers on inclusive practices, classroom management for students with special needs and the use of supportive resources.
- Liaise with parents and guardians to communicate progress, address concerns and involve them in the educational planning process.
- Coordinate with external therapists, counselors or medical professionals when additional interventions are required.
- Ensure compliance with any statutory regulations or school policies related to special education.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post‑graduate degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education or a related field.
- Minimum two years of hands‑on experience working with children with learning, intellectual or developmental disabilities in a school environment.
- Demonstrated ability to design IEPs, employ differentiated instructional strategies and use assistive resources.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, staff, families and external agencies.
Salary, Employment Type and Location
- Monthly remuneration: Rs.20,000 – Rs.30,000, payable as per school norms.
- Full‑time permanent position.
- Based in Chainpur, Palamu district, Jharkhand (Tier‑4 location).
