Job Description
Daily teaching duties involve planning and delivering Chemistry lessons for upper primary and secondary classes in accordance with the school’s curriculum. Lessons must cover fundamental concepts such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, periodic trends, stoichiometry, organic reactions and laboratory safety. The teacher prepares practical sessions, supervises experiments, evaluates lab reports and ensures that safety protocols are strictly followed. Assessment responsibilities include setting and marking written tests, quizzes, practical examinations and providing timely feedback to students and parents. Regularly updating teaching materials, maintaining class records and contributing to the school’s academic calendar are also required.
Key responsibilities
- Design lesson plans that align with prescribed syllabus and incorporate visual aids, demonstrations and hands‑on activities.
- Conduct laboratory work, demonstrate correct use of equipment, and enforce safety guidelines during experiments.
- Assess student performance through formative and summative evaluations and maintain accurate grade books.
- Identify learning gaps, provide remedial support and recommend enrichment activities for advanced learners.
- Participate in staff meetings, co‑ordinate with other subject teachers for interdisciplinary projects and attend professional development sessions organized by the school.
- Communicate progress and concerns to parents through meetings, reports and informal updates.
Qualifications and experience
- Post‑graduate degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline.
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in a school setting, preferably handling Chemistry for classes VI‑XII.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a laboratory, conduct practicals safely and inspire student interest in the subject.
- Strong command of English and Hindi for effective classroom communication.

- Salary range: Rs. 22,000 – Rs. 40,000 per month, payable as per school policy.
