Regular Responsibilities Across the Academic Cycle
Develop and implement a semester-long yoga curriculum that integrates academic and physical learning objectives. Collaborate with the school’s physical education team to design interdisciplinary projects linking yoga to health sciences or mindfulness studies. Monitor student progress in yoga skills and provide constructive feedback through assessments and reflective journals. Attend regular faculty meetings to share innovative teaching methods and best practices in yoga pedagogy.
Periodic Responsibilities
Organize inter-house yoga competitions or inter-school events to promote teamwork and healthy competition. Conduct parent-teacher interactions to discuss student participation in yoga activities and address any concerns about adherence to practices. Participate in school-wide wellness initiatives, such as meditation sessions or health awareness campaigns, to reinforce the school’s commitment to holistic development.
Qualifications and Experience
Hold a postgraduate degree in Education with a specialization in Physical Education or a related field. Possess a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification and at least four years of teaching experience, preferably in schools with a focus on physical education or wellness programs. A strong background in yoga pedagogy, including training in Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation, is essential. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, prior experience in teaching yoga to diverse student populations is highly desirable.
