The Hillside International School | Belagavi
Job Description
The Hillside International School in Belagavi seeks a dedicated PPRT (Primary Professional Resource Teacher) specializing in Environmental Studies (EVS) to join their team. This full-time role focuses on delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned EVS lessons while supporting classroom instruction and student learning through hands-on activities. The selected candidate will work closely with teachers to enhance EVS teaching methods, ensuring students grasp scientific concepts related to ecology, sustainability, and local environmental issues.
The EVS teacher’s primary responsibility is to develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with Karnataka’s school curriculum. This includes designing interactive experiments, field trips, and project-based learning opportunities to deepen students’ understanding of environmental science. The role also involves assessing student progress through formative and summative evaluations, adjusting teaching strategies based on feedback, and maintaining detailed records of learning outcomes.
As a PPRT, you will collaborate with other teachers to integrate EVS concepts into broader classroom activities, ensuring consistency in teaching standards. This position requires a strong foundation in EVS pedagogy, the ability to simplify complex scientific ideas for young learners, and a passion for fostering environmental awareness. Experience in working with primary-grade students (Classes 1-5) is preferred, though relevant teaching experience will be considered.
The role demands a blend of instructional expertise and adaptability, as you will guide teachers in adopting innovative EVS teaching techniques while ensuring alignment with academic goals. The successful candidate will also assist in organizing EVS workshops or parent-teacher interactions to promote environmental education at home. This position offers a salary of Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 25,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications for this role include a B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree, with a minimum of three years of teaching experience in EVS or a related subject. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it will be an asset. A graduate degree in EVS, environmental science, or a related field is highly beneficial. The ideal candidate will demonstrate creativity in lesson planning, a commitment to student-centered learning, and a strong ethical foundation in environmental stewardship.
