Key Responsibilities
Deliver undergraduate and senior secondary Biology lectures in accordance with the UGC Model Curriculum and the college’s academic calendar.
Prepare and update lecture notes, practical manuals and assessment material that meet UGC guidelines for credit and learning outcomes.
Guide students through laboratory work, ensuring safety protocols and proper use of equipment, and evaluate practical reports as per UGC standards.
Participate in curriculum revision committees, contributing to periodic syllabus updates mandated by the UGC and the Maharashtra State Board.
Mentor students for research projects, internships and competitive exams, encouraging scholarly publications where feasible.
Maintain accurate attendance, grading and record‑keeping in the college’s ERP system, complying with UGC reporting requirements.
Attend faculty development programmes, workshops and seminars to stay current with advances in biological sciences and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
UGC‑approved Master’s degree in Biology, Zoology, Botany or a related discipline with at least 55 % marks.
Qualified NET/SET in the relevant subject as per UGC regulations – mandatory for appointment as Assistant Professor.
Ph.D. in a biological science is preferred and will be considered an advantage during promotions.
Demonstrated ability to conduct laboratory sessions and supervise practical work.
Good command of English and Marathi for effective classroom communication.
