About Crescent High School & Junior College | Pune

Crescent High School & Junior College sits on a quiet stretch of Gultekdi in Pune, Maharashtra, where the streets are a mix of old‑world markets and new residential complexes. The neighbourhood is close‑knit, with families who have lived here for generations and newcomers drawn by the city’s tech boom. This blend gives the school a lively community feel; parents often meet on the school’s front lawn after dropping off their children, and local festivals become part of the school’s calendar, grounding students in the culture around them.

Since its founding in 1975, the school has been affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, offering a continuous curriculum from primary grades through junior college. The academic program follows the CBSE framework, which emphasizes a balanced mix of theory and application, and the school has kept pace with changing syllabi by adding specialised streams at the higher‑secondary level. The “Build Learn Grow Together” motto is evident in the way lessons are linked across years, allowing students to see the relevance of what they study today in the subjects they will tackle tomorrow.

The teaching staff is a point of pride for Crescent High School & Junior College. Every teacher, whether handling a class of ten‑year‑olds or guiding a group of pre‑university students, holds a Bachelor of Education degree, and many have gone on to earn postgraduate qualifications. In the classrooms you can hear a mixture of disciplined instruction and spontaneous discussion, a result of teachers who are encouraged to use both traditional chalk‑board methods and the interactive tools provided by the school’s computer labs. The environment feels professional yet welcoming, with small groups of students working together on projects while the teacher circulates, offering guidance without hovering.

Beyond the textbooks, the campus offers a range of facilities that make learning feel expansive. Science experiments are conducted in well‑ventilated labs stocked with modern equipment, while the computer rooms keep pace with the latest software that prepares students for a digital world. A spacious library invites quiet reading and research, and the visual and performing arts rooms are alive with sketches, rehearsals, and occasional school productions. Sports fields and a multi‑purpose hall mean that a day at
