Amity International School | Navi Mumbai seeks a dedicated PGT Political Science Teacher to inspire students with engaging lessons on contemporary global and Indian political dynamics. Reporting to the Head of the Social Sciences Department, this position focuses on delivering high-quality Political Science instruction across senior classes.
Core Duties
Curriculum Development and Teaching:
Plan and deliver comprehensive Political Science lessons, integrating modern case studies, debates, and interactive sessions. Adhere to the school’s syllabus while incorporating innovative teaching methods like simulations, guest lectures, and project-based learning. Use multimedia tools to enhance student engagement, particularly in topics like constitutional law, human rights, and political economy.
Student Mentorship and Assessment:
Act as a mentor to students, guiding them through political analysis, essay writing, and mock debates. Design and conduct formative and summative assessments aligned with CBSE/State board standards. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve analytical skills and academic performance.
Classroom Management and Collaboration:
Maintain a structured and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring all students participate equally. Collaborate with the Social Sciences faculty to develop interdisciplinary projects, such as combining Political Science with History or Economics. Represent the school at local educational forums or workshops, sharing teaching best practices.
Resource Management:
Prepare engaging study materials, including PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and digital resources. Stay updated on political science research, government policies, and global events to keep lessons current. Assist in organizing school events like Model Republic Day celebrations or awareness campaigns on civic duties.
Qualification and Experience:
Hold a postgraduate degree in Political Science or a related discipline with at least four years of teaching experience. A B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification is mandatory for this role. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it is highly preferred for teaching in Maharashtra. Experience in shaping young minds through political awareness programs is a plus.
Compensation and Location:
