PRT Dance Teacher Job in Thane, Maharastra | School Recruitment
Role Summary
The PRT Dance Teacher will plan, teach, and assess dance lessons for primary students at Don Bosco Senior Secondary School Mumbai’s Thane campus. The role involves creating age-appropriate dance curricula that align with the school’s co-curricular goals and cultural events. Regular coordination with the arts department and class teachers is expected.
What You Will Do
Create weekly dance lesson plans for Classes 1 to 5.
Teach Bharatanatyam, folk, and creative movement styles.
Organize two annual dance showcases for parents and students.
Assess student progress through informal observations and simple rubrics.
Maintain discipline and safety during dance rehearsals and performances.
Prepare students for inter-school and intra-school dance competitions.
Document attendance, progress notes, and inventory of props.
Participate in staff meetings and parent orientation sessions.
Required Qualifications
Must Have
Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
B.Ed or D.El.Ed degree with dance as a subject or elective.
Minimum 3 years of teaching dance to children aged 6 to 12.
Good communication skills in English and Marathi or Hindi.
Good to Have
D.El.Ed with dance specialization.
TET or CTET certificate.
Experience in choreographing group performances for school events.
Familiarity with Indian classical dance forms.
Preferred Skills
Ability to design age-appropriate dance modules.
Strong classroom management during practical sessions.
Basic knowledge of music editing for dance rehearsals.
Willingness to attend weekend workshops for skill upgradation.
Salary and Benefits
A fixed monthly salary of Rs.18,000 to Rs.30,000 based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include festival bonuses, subsidized canteen access, and subsidized transport for school events.
