The Psychological Counsellor will:
- Conduct individual, group, and classroom-based mental health sessions to address student concerns.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify and support students facing academic, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
- Develop and deliver workshops on stress management, resilience, and emotional intelligence for students and staff.
- Maintain confidential records of counselling sessions and report progress to the school’s leadership team.
- Partner with external mental health professionals when necessary to enhance support systems.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings to discuss student progress and mental health needs.
- Advocate for inclusive policies that promote mental health awareness within the school community.
- Organise school-wide mental health awareness campaigns and training sessions for staff.
For this position, a graduate degree in psychology or a related field with at least three years of experience is required. A background in school counselling or child psychology is a strong asset. Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills are essential.
The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to work independently while contributing to the school’s broader administrative and leadership goals. Salary for this role ranges from Rs.16,000 to Rs.33,000 per month, with the location in Bhadrak Rural, Odisha.
