Key Responsibilities
Develop, plan and oversee the school’s dance curriculum, ensuring activities align with cultural and extracurricular goals.
Organise weekly rehearsals, festivals, and inter‑school competitions, coordinating schedules with other departments.
Select, procure and maintain dance equipment, costumes and audio‑visual resources needed for performances.
Mentor senior students, guiding them in choreography, stage presence and event management.
Collaborate with school administration to integrate dance events into the annual calendar and promote participation among students.
Maintain records of student progress, attendance and performance outcomes for reporting to the principal.
Conduct regular assessments of the dance programme’s effectiveness and suggest improvements to enhance student engagement.
Ensure safety protocols are followed during all dance activities and manage any related logistical arrangements.
Required Qualifications
Graduate degree in any discipline; a B.Ed, D.El.Ed or similar teaching qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
TET/CTET certification is an advantage.
Minimum two years of experience coordinating dance or performing‑arts programmes in an educational setting.
Competencies
Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with students, parents and staff.
