Job Description
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver Odia lessons to primary level classes in accordance with the school curriculum and state guidelines.
- Conduct interactive classroom activities, storytelling and language drills to develop reading, writing and speaking skills among students.
- Assess student progress through oral tests, written assignments and periodic evaluations, providing constructive feedback and remedial support where needed.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, lesson plans and student performance logs, updating the school’s academic management system regularly.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and senior staff to integrate Odia language components into cross‑subject projects and cultural events.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular activities such as Odia poetry recitals, drama and language clubs to foster cultural appreciation.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student achievements, areas of improvement and classroom behaviour, arranging meetings when required.
- Participate in staff development programmes, school meetings and community outreach initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in any discipline.
- B.Ed or D.El.Ed certification is mandatory.
- TET/CTET qualification preferred.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience in Odia at the primary level.
- Strong command over spoken and written Odia, with the ability to engage young learners.
