Responsibilities
Plan and conduct daily dance classes for students, ensuring age-appropriate curriculum alignment with school policies. Incorporate traditional and contemporary dance forms to engage students while maintaining safety and hygiene standards. Collaborate with the school’s arts coordinator to integrate dance performances in school events, festivals, and extracurricular activities.
Teach fundamental dance techniques, including posture, footwork, and choreography, using visual aids, props, and interactive methods. Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. Ensure all dance activities comply with school rules and maintain a positive, inclusive environment for all students.
Qualifications
Hold a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) to qualify for a PRT position. A degree in dance or related arts is preferred but not mandatory. Possess a valid Teaching Eligibility Test certificate (TET/CTET) as an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum one year of teaching or dance training experience with a focus on working with school-age children. Experience in designing and delivering dance programs for diverse student groups is highly beneficial. Familiarity with Punjab’s cultural dance traditions would be an asset.
