Collaborating with students to explore real-world environmental issues through projects and discussions is also part of daily duties.
Regular responsibilities across the academic cycle involve coordinating EVS field trips to local eco-parks or farms to enhance learning. You will assess student progress through quizzes, projects, and observations, ensuring alignment with the school’s curriculum standards. Working with the EVS coordinator to plan termly workshops on topics like renewable energy or conservation will also be part of your role. Keeping parents informed about EVS achievements through updates and parent-teacher meetings is essential.
Periodic responsibilities include organizing annual environmental awareness campaigns, such as Earth Day activities or tree-planting drives. You will review and update teaching materials to reflect new environmental research and best practices. Ensuring compliance with school policies on sustainability initiatives is another key responsibility.
To qualify, a graduate degree is required, with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed qualification preferred. Two years of teaching experience, especially in EVS or environmental sciences, is mandatory. While TET/CTET certification is not mandatory, it will be an added advantage. Candidates must be fluent in English and Hindi, with excellent communication skills to engage diverse learners.
