A typical day or week in this role
Plan lessons that align with CBSE guidelines while keeping the mood lively. Conduct daily reading circles where students explore short stories or poems. Mark assignments with feedback that builds confidence, not just grades. Organize weekly vocabulary quizzes and monthly writing competitions. Collaborate with colleagues to stage English plays or poetry recitals. Attend department meetings to discuss curriculum updates. Mentor students preparing for inter-school elocution contests. Use audio-visual aids to bring grammar and literature to life.
Who would thrive here
A postgraduate in English with at least three years of classroom experience will fit right in. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is a must. While TET/CTET isn’t required, it adds an edge. More than credentials, we need someone patient enough to repeat explanations, passionate enough to stay after hours, and playful enough to make grammar fun.
The rewards
