Zoology (PGT) Vacancy in Tijara, Alwar, Rajasthan
Yaduvanshi Shiksha Niketan
Job Description
What It Is Like Here
Yaduvanshi Shiksha Niketan sits on the edge of Tijara, where the small-town calm meets the steady pulse of Alwar district. The science block is a quiet hive: glass tanks of local amphibians, a small herbarium of Aravali flora, and students who know the names of every bird that passes over the playground. Teachers here swap lesson plans over chai in the common room and walk the same corridors where former students now return to give guest talks. You are expected to know your subject deeply, but also to notice when a child’s eyes glaze over during Mendelian ratios.
About This Role
This is a full-time PGT Zoology Teacher Vacancy in Alwar for the senior-secondary section. You will be the single point of contact for Zoology from Classes XI to XII, shaping two batches of roughly sixty students each year. Your classroom is a converted biology lab with smart boards that sometimes freeze, so a backup projector and a spool of extra wire are part of the furniture. The school runs on a five-day week; exam weeks are longer, but holidays fall when the monsoon arrives.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that link textbook phylum diagrams to the scorpions and butterflies actually seen in the Aravali foothills.
Design and maintain low-cost models—terrariums, owl-pellet kits, preserved fish specimens—to keep lab work alive even when budgets tighten.
Assess students through monthly practical tests and term-end theory papers, then analyse results to spot weak areas in genetics or ecology.
Organize weekend field trips to local water bodies or the nearby Sariska buffer zone for first-hand biodiversity documentation.
Collaborate with the chemistry and geography departments to run inter-house projects on environmental conservation themes.
Keep the lab inventory updated; broken slides and dried-up stains cost more in time than in rupees.
Participate in PTMs and parent orientation sessions, translating exam jargon into plain Hindi so parents in Tijara understand their child’s projected scores.
Contribute to the school magazine’s science page with student-authored articles on local fauna.
Who Can Apply
Candidates holding a postgraduate degree in Zoology with a minimum of four years of teaching experience at the senior-secondary level are eligible. A B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory; TET/CTET is not required but will be looked upon favourably. Familiarity with Rajasthan Board syllabi and CBSE sample papers is useful. Local candidates from Alwar or adjoining districts who can commute daily are preferred.
Salary and Benefits
The Zoology Teacher Job in Alwar, Rajasthan offers a monthly salary between Rs.45,000 and Rs.65,000 based on experience and qualifications. In addition, Yaduvanshi Shiksha Niketan provides annual festival bonuses, subsidised meals in the staff canteen, and partial reimbursement for approved professional development courses. The school also covers basic medical check-ups for staff members twice a year.
