About This Role
We are seeking a senior PGT Geography Teacher to take on a lead role in the Geography department at Vinayak Foundation Academy in Jalore, Rajasthan. As a key member of our academic team, you will be responsible for shaping the curriculum and teaching practices within the department. With a focus on academic excellence, you will work closely with our senior leadership to drive improvements in student performance and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and develop the Geography curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of our students and stays up-to-date with national and international best practices
* Teach Geography to students at senior secondary level, promoting a love of learning and achievement in the subject
* Mentor and support junior staff members within the department, providing guidance and coaching to help them develop their teaching skills
* Collaborate with other departments to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities that enhance student learning
* Analyze and interpret student performance data to identify areas for improvement and inform teaching practices
* Develop and implement assessment strategies that are valid, reliable, and fair
* Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures related to Geography education
* Represent the school at regional and national events related to Geography education
* Work closely with the Head of Department to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives
* Provide cover for other teachers within the department as needed
Eligibility Criteria
* Postgraduate degree in Geography or a related subject (M.A., M.Sc.)
* B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. qualification
* At least 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a senior secondary school
* NET or SET qualification preferred, but not essential
* Strong understanding of the Indian education system and curriculum
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* Strong organizational and time management skills
