About This Role
Wonder School is inviting passionate Tamil educators to join its Tirunelveli campus as a TGT Tamil Teacher. The role focuses on shaping young minds in Classes 6-8, preparing students for state board exams while nurturing love for Tamil literature and language. Day-to-Day Duties
Conduct engaging Tamil classes for Grades 6 to 8, ensuring alignment with the state curriculum and school standards. Design lesson plans that simplify complex grammatical concepts like uyir, mei, and uyirmei letters for young learners. Organize weekly oral tests, dictation, and creative writing assignments to assess progress effectively.
Prepare students for Tamil Olympiad and inter-school competitions by conducting special practice sessions. Collaborate with other subject teachers to integrate Tamil language skills across subjects like social studies and science. Maintain student portfolios with writing samples and progress notes for parent-teacher meetings.
Organize cultural events like Bharatnatyam performances or Valluvar Jayanthi celebrations where students showcase their Tamil knowledge through skits and recitals. Provide remedial support to students struggling with comprehension or writing during designated help hours.
Eligibility Criteria
Postgraduate in Tamil with a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a recognized school. B.Ed or D.El.Ed is mandatory; TET/CTET certification is desirable but not compulsory. Fluency in spoken and written Tamil, along with basic English for communication with parents, is essential.
Prior experience teaching Tamil to middle school students in Tamilnadu schools will be preferred. Familiarity with state board syllabus and exam patterns for Tamil is a strong advantage.
