The reality of this role
Day‑to‑day, you will lead a class of 30–35 students, delivering the US curriculum in Social Science while managing the homeroom duties. The classroom rhythm involves morning assemblies, lesson delivery, and end‑of‑day wrap‑ups. You will also handle attendance, discipline, and coordinate with the school’s administrative team for student progress reports.
What you will actually do
1. Plan and execute lesson plans for History, Geography, Economics, and Civics aligned with the US syllabus.
2. Conduct interactive lessons using maps, primary sources, and digital tools to enhance engagement.
3. Assess student performance through quizzes, projects, and class participation.
4. Maintain daily attendance records and report absences to the principal.
5. Facilitate classroom discussions that encourage critical thinking about global issues.
6. Prepare students for state and national examinations by reviewing key concepts.
7. Coordinate with parents during parent‑teacher meetings to discuss student progress.
8. Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
Who can do this job
A graduate with a B.Ed or D.El.Ed is required. Three years of teaching experience in a school setting is mandatory. TET or CTET certification is preferred but not mandatory.
